Students from Newmarket Academy received funding of £2,500 from a panel of ‘dragons’ from the Newmarket Festival Committee last week.
Based on the concept of the TV show Dragon’s Den, finalists pitched for cash on December 14th for a variety of ideas.
Nick Froy, Newmarket Academy’s head, said: “The response from the students has been fantastic and we’re grateful to the festival for their continued support to the academy.”
The dragons made grants of more than £2,500 to 10 students from the academy. The grants per individual ranged from £400 to help a student with kit for a recording studio to generate income, to sports kits for aspiring sportsmen.
